After nearly eight incredible years, I’ve made the decision to step away from my role as President of Pie. It’s been a privilege to build Pie from the ground up based on the premise that small businesses deserve better from the insurance industry. I’ve always been an entrepreneur and the time has come for me to start building something new.
This decision, supported by John, the board, and our senior leadership, has been one I’ve been carefully considering for awhile. While it’s not easy to leave something so deeply personal to me, I’m confident it’s the right move for me and for Pie.
It’s amazing what Pie has achieved since our founding in May of 2017. What makes me most proud is the work we do every day for small businesses and the independent agents who serve them. They need Pie. They need a company that puts them first, offering affordable and accessible insurance by leveraging technology and providing a standard of care they deserve. It’s been the honor of my life to work alongside hundreds of talented Pie-oneers to bring our vision to life and support so many small businesses.
Pie has grown beyond anything I could have imagined, and I’m excited to watch it continue to thrive and expand its impact. Pie is well on its way to becoming a household name, and I have no doubt it will keep empowering small businesses for years to come.
I’ll be staying on for several months and will be sure to share more reflections and thoughts down the road. But for now, to everyone who’s been part of this journey—our customers, partners, and Pie-oneers—thank you. I’ll always be proud of the role I’ve played in Pie’s story, and I can’t wait to see how the company continues to shape the future of insurance.
